Sources share update as Euro club reject request of Rangers player and switch focus - report

FC Utrecht have rejected a request made by Sam Lammers over a potential summer transfer as he appears to be on his way out of Rangers, according to Telegraaf.

The Dutch news outlet reported on 4 July that sources in Scotland claimed that there was intensive contact between the two clubs but Gers made it clear that no deal was going to happen due to differences in the valuations.

Despite a good stint at Utrecht, the Dutch side have now turned their attention to Hull City striker Noah Ohio.

It seemed that there would be competition for the 27-year-old from AZ Alkmaar and FC Utrecht.

However, now that the latter seem to be out of the race, AZ Alkmaar can go ahead and secure his services.

They are now expected to table a £2.5million bid for the Dutchman [Football Scotland] and it remains to be seen if Gers accept it.

The club can demand more for Lammers given his impressive performance during his loan spell at FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie.

He scored 11 goals in 20 appearances, showcasing his ability to perform consistently at a high level.

This goal-scoring form not only highlights his potential value to interested clubs but also increases his market value.

Moreover, Lammers’ versatility as a forward, capable of playing as a number 10 or a number 9, adds to his appeal.
