Southampton fans slaughter Cameron Archer after what he did v Man United

Southampton fans have claimed that Cameron Archer cost his team the game as they were defeated 3-0 by Man United on Saturday (14 September).

The Saints dominated the early exchanges of the game and eventually won a penalty in the 32nd minute at St Marys.

Ben Brereton Diaz handed the penalty duties over to Archer, but the 22-year-old failed to convert the opportunity.

Archer had to wait a significant amount of time before being able to take the penalty, but when he did it was met by a routine save from Andre Onana.

It was Archer’s first-ever penalty, and the momentum of the game changed immediately after the miss as United went on to score twice in the first half.

The result ensured that Southampton remained without a win this season as the club continues to sit in the relegation zone.

The striker missing his opportunity was something that Saints supporters felt had a major impact on how the game turned out.

Archer was eventually replaced in the 61st minute by Ross Stewart, but Southampton fans felt he’d already created enough damage.
