'Special' - Pundit View: Daniel Levy would listen to new investment input at Tottenham

Daniel Levy would listen to possible investment interest from Amanda Stavely at Tottenham, Paul Robinson has said.

Bloomberg reported [18 July] that the former Newcastle United chief is searching for her next footballing investment, with Spurs believed to be among the possible targets.

It is understood that Stavely has held talks about the possibility of investing in the North London club, having raised £500m through her investment fund PCP Capital Partners.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “I think the job they did at Newcastle was pretty special – the investment they brought to the table, how they took, and the way they grew and developed the club in such a short space of time.

“They took Newcastle from a relegation-threatened side to a Champions League-competing team, so their business now is the quality of their contacts off the field.

“It is well known that Daniel Levy is open to selling parts of Tottenham to the right people, and she fits the bill. You can’t really criticise their tenure at Newcastle. Any kind of wealth input, as well as knowledge, Daniel Levy would listen to.”

Levy is one of the most business-savvy owners in the Premier League, always finding new avenues to make profit at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, even at the expense of the fans sometimes.

While the links to Staveley may have raised quite a few eyebrows, possibly due to the Saudi Arabian links, Robinson makes some very good points about their success at St James’ Park.

If Levy is open to the idea of bringing a new face into the club, such as Staveley, it could open up some very important doors for the club, especially when it comes to finance and contacts.
