Jamie O’Hara was left in hysterics live on talkSPORT as an Everton supporter was mocked during a Sean Dyche sack rant.

Toffees supporter John rang into the show on Saturday (17 August) after watching his side beaten 3-0 by Brighton at Goodison Park in their Premier League opener.

Midway through his rant, shown on talkSPORT’s YouTube channel (3m, 30s) violin music was played over the call and O’Hara was seen unable to stifle his laughter at the prank.

Caller John said at the end of his call: “It’s not going to work Mr Dyche can you not see the wood for the trees? things have to change nd nothing is changing that’s what I’m saying.”

O’Hara managed to compose himself enough to say to co-host Jason Cundy: “Right John thanks for your call. Cundy you’ve rocked up and you’ve just got the violin out already on the first phone call!”

A giggling Cundy replied: “Oh, it’s nothing to do with me!”

Sense of calm needed at Everton

Okay, let’s start with some caveats here.

Yes, things off the pitch are still pretty uncertain and concerning with the all the uncertainty over the takeover of the club.

And yes, while ever that remains there is going to be fears about player sales and the quality of players that can be brought to Goodison Park.

And yes, there were a lot of familiar failings against Brighton, which Dyche has to take accountability for. A lack of clinical edge, letting a game get away having been well in it for so long.

But…well it has only been one game hasn’t it? Is it not just a little bit of an overreaction to one, admittedly demoralising, defeat? One that saw Everton finish with 10 men after Ashley Young was sent off.

We’re not even out of August yet, there are still 37 games left to play this season, let’s not be hitting those panic buttons just yet.

And the violin gag is pretty funny if we’re being honest…if nothing else we have to through adversity right?

In other Everton news, Alan Myers was baffled by the scenes he saw against Brighton.
