'That's the worst I've ever seen' - Bardell shares Dyche verdict after Everton heartbreak

Dan Bardell has backed Sean Dyche to keep Everton up and has blamed the players for the late defeat against Bournemouth.

The Toffees fell to a record-breaking comeback against the Cherries, going from 2-0 up in the 86th minute to 3-2 down by the 94th.

This has seen Dyche slammed for the loss with some fans questioning his future at Goodison after starting the season with three defeats.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes his future is safe and has questioned his players’ mentalities to lose in such fashion.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “I would still back Sean Dyche to stay up and that’s the most important thing with the new stadium on the horizon.

We’ve all been there at football matches when you throw away a game late and it’s heartbreaking but that’s the worst I’ve ever seen.

As a manager, what can you do in that situation, the players have to take a portion of the blame there.

Dyche can only do so much when his players go under like that. Mentality wise that is really, really poor.

Sean Dyche backed at Everton amid Bournemouth collapse

It isn’t the start to the Premier League campaign that supporters expected given the business they had completed ahead of the season.

Last campaign, defence was the strong point so bringing in attacking reinforcements felt like a smart move to balance the side.

The likes of Jesper Lindstrom and Iliman Ndiaye came in and have failed to have too much a positive impact on the Toffees’ fortunes so far.

Dyche wouldn’t have imagined that the defensive element of his side would let him down but without Jarrad Branthwaite, that is what has happened.

Once the Englishman has returned their fortunes may turn and the manager’s future may be looked upon more favourably.

In other Everton news, the Premier League have been mocked by Kieran Maguire after a multi-million development.
