Tottenham have agreed a club-record transfer to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth, according to Duncan Castles.
The Transfers Podcast host reported, via X, on 9 August that the Cherries have agreed to sell the 26-year-old to Spurs.
Andoni Iraola’s side were “open to selling” their talisman this window and now a club-record transfer fee for the North Londoners has been agreed.
Tottenham set to sign Dominic Solanke
Tottenham may have finally found their replacement for Harry Kane a year after the England captain joined Bayern Munich.
Despite having a positive campaign in the Premier League last time out, the number nine position was one for concern at times.
Son Heung-min was the player to feature there throughout the season with Richarlison and Timo Werner also being utilised by Postecoglou.
None of these offer the physicality that teams need from a number nine in the league, looking at the likes of Erling Haaland in recent years.
Solanke will add that and more to the Tottenham team with his combination of pace, strength and finishing ability.
Although Bournemouth had a good season, no one would have expected the one-cap England international to score as many as he did.
If he can rediscover that same form in the white of Spurs, then fans are going to be excited by his introduction.
In other Tottenham news, a permanent Spurs exit is now on the cards as temporary deal struck.
