Tottenham fan reacts to what Rory Jennings said about Daniel Levy – ‘Absolute Rubbish’

Rory Jennings was left shocked by a Tottenham fan who called in and backed Daniel Levy‘s record at the club.

Spurs are currently 11th in the Premier League, which has resulted in plenty of rumours being shared about where the futures of both Levy and Ange Postecoglou lie.

Chelsea fan Jennings was hosting his talkSPORT show on Monday (30 December) and put it to one Spurs supporter that Levy has priorities away from football.

“What do you make about the accusations that Daniel Levy’s priority isn’t football?” Jennings asked.

“You’ve got a beautiful stadium but the NFL takes a big priority in that you’ve got a great stadium for Beyoncé but ultimately Daniel Levy isn’t necessarily trying his best to build the biggest football team possible.”

To which the fan replied: “I think that’s absolute rubbish, those things are for business, they’re obviously for the football club so he can buy players and stuff which he is doing.

“Their model at the moment is buying young players such as Archie Gray”.

So far, the 2024/25 season has been one that Tottenham fans will want to forget as quickly as possible.

They’ve performed well below par across all competitions and, at the moment, it’s hard to see how they’d even make their way into the top six with the performances they’re putting on each week.

Dejan Kulusevski has been in great form, while James Maddison has shone in patches, but by and large – as a collective – the team have just massively underperformed, even accounting for the injuries they have had to endure this term.

Levy is a polarising figure at Spurs, with plenty critical of his work in the transfer market, while others acknowledge that off the pitch the club are in a brilliant position financially.

Only time will tell what the future holds for people such as Postecoglou but if performances don’t pick up, it’s hard to see how changes won’t start to be made in the near future.
