Tottenham in running to sign Bryan Mbeumo after £60m Brentford transfer news

Tottenham are one of the sides in the running to sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

BetVictor have offered odds of 6/1 for Spurs to sign Mbeumo from their London rivals before the January transfer window closes.

It was reported by Football Insider [5 December] that the Bees will be looking for a fee of £60million for their player, which could price Arsenal out of the running.

However, the odds place Arsenal (5/1) slightly ahead of Spurs in terms of the likelihood of landing Mbuemo, with Newcastle United (4/1) and Liverpool (3/1) leading the way.

Bryan Mbeumo to leave Brentford for Tottenham?

According to these odds, Spurs will have to fend off interest from some other big-hitters in the January transfer window if they are to secure the services of the current Brentford man.

However, this would be a signing Ange Postecoglou would surely love to get done, with his belief in attacking football and a free-flowing system surely suited to the player.

During the campaign so far, the 25-year-old has scored ten goals and provided two assists for the West London side, building upon his impressive form over recent years.

Whether Daniel Levy would see this fee as one worth paying at the moment will be seen in the upcoming transfer window and perhaps Postecoglou should be prioritising defensive cover ahead of more attackers.

However, there is no denying that the winger is a great player and could certainly be an asset to any side in the Premier League.

In other Tottenham news, Spurs are also eyeing a surprise January move for this player in Brazil.
