Tottenham could make a stunning move for ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery if Ange Postecoglou is sacked, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
The Australian is under severe pressure at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after a run of one win in the last eight matches.
That scrutiny was increased after the 6-3 loss to Liverpool on Sunday (22 December) with William Hill slashing the odds from 12/1 to 3/1 for the former Celtic man to be handed his marching orders.
Aston Villa manager Emery could be a potential replacement for the 59-year-old, he is priced as an outsider at 14/1 with BetVictor.
Emery would be a shocking appointment at Tottenham
The former Gunners manager would be a shocking appointment because of his connections with Spurs’ arch-rivals.
However, it makes sense as the Spaniard has rebuilt his reputation in England after a disastrous spell at the Emirates.
His most significant achievement in his spell at Villa Park is qualification for the Champions League this season after a fourth-placed finish in the last campaign, two points above Spurs.

As shocking as the potential appointment would be, he is a lot more pragmatic than the Australian who has been criticised for not deviating from his attacking principles despite his side conceding nine goals in their last two matches.
If the Lilywhites could win silverware with the ex-Arsenal boss it would be the ultimate flex over their fierce North London rivals.
