Tottenham star hails Liverpool player after international win

Tottenham defender Cristian Romero has been away on international duty with Argentina and hailed teammate and Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister.

Both players started in Argentina’s 6-0 demolition of Bolivia in the early hours of this morning (16 October), Romero playing the full 90 and coming away unscathed.

In an Instagram post after the game, Romero said, “que jugador colitooo”, which roughly translates to: “What a cool player.”

Romero has been a monumental figure in the Spurs side ever since joining the club in 2022 and his performances have been consistent throughout.

The Argentinian has featured in all of Spurs’ league fixtures so far this season, averaging a match rating of 7.35 according to FotMob.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have had a slow start to the Premier League campaign having won only three of their opening seven fixtures, with the club sitting just 9th however the squad has an abundance of talent that is more than capable of fighting for a top four position.

Summer recruit Micky Van De Ven has slotted in alongside Romero seamlessly and the pair have made a case to be the best centre-back partnership in the league.

Much of Tottenham’s success this season will come down to how long they can keep Romero fit and amongst the starting 11 and fortunately, Romero will return from the current international break without any concerns.
