Tottenham striker Jude Soonsup-Bell set to leave permanently – ‘Deal done’

Tottenham striker Jude Soonsup-Bell is on the verge of joining Cordoba FC in Spain, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Writing via his personal X account on Wednesday (21 August), Romano reported that Soonsup-Bell, 20, is signing for Segunda Division club on a permanent basis.

The former England Under-20 international, who joined Tottenham from Chelsea in January 2023, leaves North London without ever making an appearance for Spurs.

It’s not a shock to see Soonsup-Bell leaving Spurs so soon after arriving.

The Chippenham-born youngster shone in Premier League 2 last season, scoring 10 goals and supplying six assists in 19 appearances for Tottenham’s Under-21s.

However, despite that form, he was never really within a shot of making Ange Postecoglou’s first-team squad, failing to make a single matchday side under the Aussie’s reign.

There’s a huge step up from Premier League 2 to the Premier League and it’s likely that despite his form at that level, Soonsup-Bell just didn’t show the potential to be able to play in the big leagues.

He could have been loaned out, yes. But selling him while his card is hot is probably a good idea and it could benefit him on a personal level to head out to Spain and learn the game there before potentially returning to England at a higher level.

Everyone at Spurs will no doubt with the youngster well on his journey in Spain’s second tier.
