Tottenham will be keen to extend their perfect run in the Europa League against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday (24 October).
Spurs are in good form going into their third Europa League tie of the season as Ange Postecoglou’s men have won six of their last seven games across all competitions.
Preview
Tottenham are coming off the back of some emphatic wins ahead of their clash against the Dutch side, with their most recent victory being a 4-1 demolition of West Ham United.
Spurs’ good form hasn’t counted for much in the league, however, as they currently sit seventh in the table, four points adrift of the Champions League spots.
Postecoglou’s men will have home advantage for their next European fixture, which will no doubt boost their chances of coming away with all three points.
AZ Alkmaar’s performances, on the other hand, have left a lot to be desired. The Dutch outfit have won none of their last four games across all competitions and are in their worst form of the term thus far.

Team News
Only two of Tottenham’s players could be absent for the tie, with both Wilson Odobert set to be absent and Son Heung-min being rested.
While Son’s absence is no doubt a loss, Tottenham should still have enough quality within their ranks to out-perform Alkmaar.
Players such as Timo Werner should have more than enough quality to ensure Spurs come away from the game with all three points.
For the Dutch side, however, things seem to be the polar opposite. Bruno Martins Indi, Mees de Wit and Lequincio Zeefuik will all be out for the Europa League clash with their respective injuries.
There are also some players within their ranks who are doubtful for the clash, those players being Sem Westerveld, Lewis Schouten and Wouter Goes.
Predicted lineups
Tottenham: Vicario; Gray, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur, Bergvall; Moore, Richarlison, Werner.
AZ Alkmaar: Owusu-Oduro; Maikuma, Penetra, Dekker, Wolfe; Clasie, Mijnans, Koopmeiners; Buurmeester, Parrott, Van Bommel.
Where to watch
The match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium kicks off at 20:00 GMT on Thursday, 24 October. The game will be available to view in the UK on the Discovery + app and TNT Sports 1.
Prediction: Tottenham 3-0 AZ Alkmaar
Postecoglou may be likely to rest players such as the in-form Brennan Johnson in order to allow them to focus their talents on the Premier League.
However, even if the Australian chooses to rest a large amount of his first team, Spurs should still overcome their opponents.
If things go right for the club and someone such as Werner or Richarlison manages to get firing, the deficit could end up even larger than the three predicted.
Alkmaar’s recent form doesn’t leave them with much hope of causing an upset but they could manage to sneak a goal if they get lucky.
A win for Tottenham would increase their perfect streak in the Europa League to three and would help them mount a serious charge for the trophy.
In other Tottenham news, Archie Gray could already be set to leave Spurs after a new development.
