'Very good': Conor Coady seriously impressed by £25m Fulham player at Everton today

Fulham and Everton rounded off the Saturday action by playing out a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

A late leveller from Everton forward Beto ensured the Toffees went home with a point to show for their efforts after Alex Iwobi’s goal had looked like giving Fulham all three points.

Sean Dyche’s side were second best for much of the game and Marco Silva lamented his side’s ability to see off the Toffees at full-time.

Of course, Fulham have been in fine form this season themselves after investing again over the summer.

And one of those summer investments caught the eye of former Everton man Conor Coady.

Conor Coady impressed by Fulham’s Sander Berge in Everton draw

Commenting on the game for the BBC, former Everton man Coady was quick to pick out Fulham star Sander Berge as a key man, insisting the Norwegian had looked excellent in midfield.

“Sander Berge has been very good. He has sat in there, he’s won the ball, he’s controlled possession,” Coady said.

“He has been very good.”

Sander Berge a Premier League quality midfielder now

Sander Berge was long courted while at Sheffield United and he stuck it out in the Championship for two seasons to help the Blades get back to the Premier League.

However, since moving to Burnley from Bramall Lane and now to Craven Cottage, the Norwegian is very much showing he is a Premier League player.

At £25m, Berge didn’t come overly cheap for Fulham but on the flip side of that, the Cottagers may feel they’ve got a bargain in the modern market.

As Coady says here, Berge can control games and at Premier League level, that is a key attribute for a midfielder.

For Berge himself, it’s now about doing it consistently over a long period and showing just why the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham have tracked him in the past.
