View: 0% player lets Ange down v Ferencvaros, likely to be dropped for Tottenham v Brighton

Lucas Bergvall let Ange Postecoglou down as Tottenham picked up a 2-1 victory against Ferencvaros on 3 October.

The Spurs boss put out a youngish-looking side for the UEFA Europa League contest and while some players impressed, Bergvall clearly did not.

While he was likely to be dropped for the game against Brighton on 6 October at the Amex anyway but this performance all but sealed it.

Lucas Bergvall struggled to make an impact for Tottenham

According to Sofascore, the 18-year-old midfielder attempted three crosses all game, but failed to complete even a single one, amassing a zero per cent accuracy.

While his pass accuracy was 90 per cent, there was a clear reluctance from him to pass forward with most of his passes being sideways or backwards and that surely will not have impressed Ange.

He did technically have an assist to his name but there clearly wasn’t much he could do about it and it was totally unintentional.

Out of possession too, the Sweden international struggled, losing six out of his eight attempted ground duels.

In total, Bergvall lost possession of the ball on 12 occasions and this wasn’t an opponent that would otherwise cause any real problems for Spurs.

While he’s still only 18, it was a real eye opener as to how far away he is from being a first-team regular for Spurs.

In other Tottenham news, another Spurs player is now an injury concern and is expected to be out until the international break.
