Sean Dyche will return to Merseyside with mixed feelings as his Everton side recorded a hard-fought 0-0 draw against West Ham United.
The Blues dominated the opening 45 minutes at the London Stadium on Saturday [9 November] with Abdoulaye Doucoure squandering a golden chance to give his side the lead.
However, Everton continued to pile the pressure on the West Ham backline but to no avail and, will return to Goodison Park with a share of the spoils and, no safer from the threat of relegation heading into the international break.
Here, Goodison News rates the Toffees players out of 10 for their performances at the London Stadium.
Everton draw 0-0 against West Ham United
Jordan Pickford – 8
Pickford was kept fairly busy in the second half after a quiet opening 45 minutes and kept West Ham firmly at bay, particularly with a late save to secure the clean sheet on the road.
Ashley Young – 6
Tried forcing the issue in the first half but found a West Ham shirt more than his teammates with his crosses but all-in-all was solid defensively.
James Tarkowski – 9
Dyche should be thanking Tarkowski for a phenomenal performance at the London Stadium. The 31-year-old dealt with everything that came his way.
Jarrad Branthwaite – 7
A solid return to the side for Branthwaite, he picked up where he left off alongside Tarkowski and kept a clean sheet on his first outing back in the side.
Vitaliy Mykolenko – 6
Struggled in the first half as West Ham clearly targeted his flank to launch their attacks but grew into the game and contributed to the defensive efforts.
Orel Mangala – 7
Essentially played as the fifth defender at the London Stadium and dominated the midfield battle at times on his own – excellent from the Belgian.
Idrissa Gueye lets his Everton teammates down against West Ham United
Idrissa Gueye – 3
Wasted several strong moves with wayward shots, picked up a yellow card, and never looked like making a difference in East London. Doucoure will surely take his place in the side after the international break once Dwight McNeil returns.
Jesper Lindstrom – 6
The forward was active against West Ham and found himself on the end of a few half-chances but ultimately failed to make the most of whatever came his way.
Abdoulaye Doucoure – 6
Salvaged an abysmal first half display with a more comprehensive showing in the second half and certainly grew into the game, presumably off a half-time dressing down by Dyche.
Iliman Ndiaye – 8
Continued his stellar from at the London Stadium but once again a goal contribution escaped the Senegalese forward. Regardless, he continues to show why he is an important player for the Blues.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 7
A fairly solid outing from the forward, he tried to get his side going at the business end of the pitch but to no avail. Saw most of his shots off-target at the London Stadium but put it on a plate for Lindstrom who couldn’t get his header on target in the second half.
