View: Clement have have found his saviour after what Rangers star has done recently

Rangers’ main problem this season has been their lack of consistency in the final third thanks to the poor form of Cyriel Dessers.

The Nigeria international had the weight of an entire team on his back since the start of the term due to developments such as Danilo’s injury woes.

While on loan, Vaclav Cerny has chipped in more than once, but until recently, it still felt as though more could be done by those in the final third.

Philippe Clement has found himself under plenty of scrutiny this term due to his underperformance in the Scottish Premiership but since he took a gamble on Hamza Igamane, things have started to turn around.

The Morocco international has bagged four goals in as many games recently and could well be the saviour of Clement as Rangers boss if he can keep up this run of form.

Why Hamza Igamane could be key for Rangers this season

Before his last four games for the Ibrox outfit, fans were questioning the Belgian’s decision to spend £1.69million on the striker due to his seeming lack of readiness to play in the Scottish Premiership.

At the start of the season, the 22-year-old seemed to get bullied on the pitch, with Keith Jackson even calling him a “pound of Moroccan mince.”

Obviously, that sort of description isn’t exactly what fans would want to hear about their signing that was expected to challenge Dessers for the starting spot but after his recent form, he’s proved everyone wrong.

The signing of Igamane was a massive gamble on Clement’s part due to the fact he’d never played outside of his home country before his move to Glasgow, but it’s finally paying off.

Only time will tell if Igamane can save the Belgian but one thing is for sure, at the moment, he’s well on his way to do so.
