Jarrad Branthwaite could be handed his first Everton start of the season with Sean Dyche expected to name a strong lineup against Crystal Palace.

The Blues claimed their first point after five matches in the Premier League against Leicester City last weekend and will be hoping to claim their first three points at Goodison Park on Saturday [28 September].

For the first time this season, Dyche can name a near full-strength Everton side with Branthwaite and Vitali Mykolenko returning to first team contention.

Jordan Pickford is the undisputed number one for the Blues and should continue in goal against Crystal Palace despite conceding 14 goals in five Premier League matches.

Until one of Nathan Patterson or Seamus Coleman returns from injury, James Garner will be expected to continue his makeshift role at right-back.

Jarrad Branthwaite has returned to training and completed a full 90 minutes with the U21s and could make his return against Crystal Palace alongside James Tarkwoski in the heart of defence to shore up the Everton backline.

Ashley Young looks more woeful with each passing game and the senior player will be expected to lose his place in the side to Vitali Mykolenko, who has returned from illness.

Abdoulaye Doucoure and Orel Mangala formed the midfield partnership against Leicester last weekend and, will be expected to continue again with Garner deputising at right-back and much-needed rest afforded to Tim Iroegbunam and Idrissa Gueye.

Iliman Ndiaye scored his first Blues goal last week and has looked undroppable at times despite the side’s poor run of form and he should be the first name on the teamsheet week in and week out.

Dwight McNeil should continue his central role with Jesper Lindstrom on the right flank, with not much competition on the right side given Jack Harrison’s underwhelming start to the season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin should, of course, lead the front line and will be expected to continue to find goals against Crystal Palace as each match becomes a must-win match for Everton in the Premier League.

In other Everton news, the Blues want to sign an attacking sensation as a signing update emerges.
