View: Dyche must axe 67% Everton star at HT v Brentford after what he did

Sean Dyche must axe Dominic Calvert-Lewin at half-time if he wants Everton to win against Brentford on Saturday.

The first half of the Premier League clash at Goodison Park on 23 November ended 0-0 despite the hosts enjoying possession in dangerous areas on several occasions.

Sean Dyche has particularly been let down by Calvert-Lewin, who continues to look like a shadow of his usual self.

The moment that summed up Calvert-Lewin’s first-half performance came in the 26th minute when he messed up a chance after Dwight McNeil brilliantly set him up for a shot. The striker was let down by his touch, making the angle for the shot too narrow, and could only force a simple save from Mark Flekken.

Calvert-Lewin managed to get two of his three shots on target but failed to beat the Brentford goalkeeper on both those occasions.

His involvement in the game has also been minimal, completing just four of his six passes with 67 per cent accuracy and registering just 13 touches [FotMob].

Calvert-Lewin has been far from his best this season, having netted just twice so far, and Dyche must be running out of patience with him.

Everton have a huge chance to claim all three points against Brentford after Christian Norgaard was sent off for a challenge on Jordan Pickford four minutes from half-time.

Dyche cannot, therefore, take a chance with Calvert-Lewin and must bring on Beto in his place at the start of the second half.
