Ange Postecoglou is likely to have a great chance to unleash Mikey Moore’s potential at Tottenham, with the North London club battling to keep the wonderkid.
Spurs fans will be delighted with reports coming from the Sunday Mirror (page 70, 28 July), which indicate that Tottenham are more and more confident in keeping Moore.
Postecoglou was surely worried with Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund sniffing around Spurs’ youngest Premier League debutant.
The biggest issue for the Tottenham boss is the fact that Moore can only sign his first contract when he turns 17 – which will be on August 11.
Until then there is no real guarantee, especially with clubs that are famous for developing young talent interested in the 16-year-old’s services.
Tottenham fans will be off their seats when Mikey Moore features for the first team
Tottenham supporters have a new reason to be excited about Moore. The 16-year-old sensation has been lighting up the pre-season under the watchful eye of Postecoglou, who is likely to use the youngster in the first-team squad next season.
Moore’s knack for scoring goals was on full display in Tokyo, where he netted the winner against Vissel Kobe. Add that to his impressive performance against QPR, and it’s clear this youngster is something special.
Postecoglou has already praised Moore’s talent and maturity, noting his smooth transition from youth training to the first team.
Despite his young age, Moore is proving he can handle the pressure. The manager’s faith in him is evident, and it’s paying off on the pitch.
Tottenham’s future looks bright with Moore and when he steps onto the Premier League field next season, Spurs fans will be on their feet cheering for their homegrown star.
