Brighton loanee Abdallah Sima endured a sensational season with Rangers before being sidelined with a frustrating injury.

The 22-year-old scored 16 goals in all competitions, emerging as one of the most important players of the campaign, and certainly could have fired the Gers to the Scottish Premiership title if he were fit.

However, he is now set to return to his parent club, and although Philippe Clement and his team are working hard to bring him back on a permanent deal, his career in Scotland may have already finished.

According to Rangers Review [6 May], though the Gers are interested in signing the young forward this summer, Brighton wants to maximise the value for him.

Clement and Nils Koppen are likely working on a budget, meaning they could already be ruled out for a move for Sima, and the latest news would suggest they are beginning to look elsewhere.

According to The 4th Official [9 June] Bayern Munich’s Yusuf Kabadayi is set to jet into the UK in the next couple of days to discuss personal terms over a move to Ibrox.

Rangers turn their attention to Yusuf Kabadayi

Predominantly playing on the left flank, the 20-year-old could already be a replacement for Sima, who could have multiple teams fighting for his signature this summer.

Kabadayi has been on loan with Schalke this season, notching four goals in 24 appearances, having impressed in Bayer Munich’s academy team.

Like Sima, the young German is capable of deputising as a striker. And considering Rangers’ budget this summer, he could be a ready-made replacement for the Brighton star.

Of course, fans would love to see the return of the Senegalese forward ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, but they may have to prepare for the incoming Kabadayi instead.

In other Rangers news, the Light Blues will start exit transfer negotiations at £10million.
