Rangers must brace for Vaclav Cerny’s exit after he impressed for Czechia against Albania on Saturday.

Cerny was one of the best players on the pitch as the two teams played out a 0-0 draw in the UEFA Nations League on 16 November despite being hooked in the 65th minute.

If the 27-year-old continues to play like this for club and country, the Light Blues would have to bid adieu to any hopes of keeping him after his loan deal expires at the end of the season.

Starting on the left side of the attack, Cerny was heavily involved for Czechia, registering 48 touches, including two in the opposition box, and completing 24 of his 30 passes with 80 per cent accuracy [FotMob]. Eight of those passes were played into the final third and one led to a chance.

The winger did not shy away from going for the spectacular, taking two shots from outside the box and hitting the target on both occasions.

He also took his man on whenever he got the opportunity, attempting six dribbles and completing four of them [67 per cent]. Only Gers teammate Nedim Bejrami [three] – playing for Albania – came close.

Cerny also got stuck in, winning seven of his 12 ground duels. Only centre-back Tomas Holes (eight) won more duels among teammates. He was unsuccessful in his two tackles, but still made three recoveries and an interception.

Nevertheless, the attacker would have been disappointed not to lead his team to a victory. That will exactly be his target when Czechia host Georgia in their final Nations League group-stage game on Tuesday [19 November].
