View: Rangers star must prove himself to Philippe Clement on int'l stage ahead of Ibrox return

Rangers loanee Vaclav Cerny must prove himself to Philippe Clement again as Czechia take on Ukraine on Tuesday 10 September.

The 26-year-old joined the Gers on loan from Wolfsburg in the transfer window and has managed to have some impact on the side.

This hasn’t translated to him being handed an opportunity on the international stage despite being called up by Ivan Hašek for the first break of the season.

The winger wasn’t called upon in their opening Nations League game against Georgia but will be hopeful of the chance to impress against Ukraine to land himself a starring role at Ibrox.

The former Ajax starlet has begun his campaign with the Light Blues with two assists and a goal in all competitions [FotMob] despite his performances being lacklustre.

There was plenty of excitement surrounding his loan signing but the wideman has failed to live up to those expectations so far in the big games.

Clement has started the loanee in the last three games for the Gers but will be unsure whether to continue that after his showing in the Old Firm defeat.

Cerny was lacklustre and failed to make any sort of impact on the game in a humiliating defeat at Parkhead.

With that being said, he must now look to impress for Czechia to put himself at the front of his manager’s mind ahead of the upcoming clash against Dundee United.

If the Wolfsburg man can not show his qualities for his country then a move out of the Light Blues’ starting XI may prove to be deserved.
