Tottenham supporters will no doubt be concerned with Son Heung-min “unlikely” to play against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Sunday (27 October).

Son missed Spurs’ 1-0 win over AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (24 October).

However, most supporters would have been hopeful that this was only a precautionary measure and that the South Korean would return against Palace.

Unfortunately for Tottenham fans, it doesn’t appear as though that is the case.

While speaking in his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou provided an update on Son, and it wasn’t a positive one.

The Australian said (via Spurs’ official website, 25 October), “Sonny’s still not right, still not feeling 100 per cent. He won’t train today, so he’s unlikely for this weekend and we’ll see after that.”

This will come as a big concern to Tottenham supporters, especially with the games to come.

Son Heung-min to miss out for Tottenham v Crystal Palace?

Palace haven’t yet won a match this season. Therefore, Spurs fans will still be hopeful of securing three points, even without their captain.

After his display against AZ Alkmaar, Mikey Moore could be in line for his first Premier League start at Selhurst Park.

However, looking beyond the game against Palace, Tottenham have home matches against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday (30 October) and Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday (3 November).

These are two big games, and Spurs will need Son back for those, especially based on his performance in the 4-1 Premier League win over West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (19 October).

As per Sofascore, in addition to his goal, Son also missed one big chance and hit the woodwork, registering five shots overall.

He succeded with one dribble attempt, while he also completed 84 per cent of his passes, with two of those key. The 32-year-old was a handful for West Ham, although there was room for improvement.

He only managed to win one of his five ground duels and was dribbled past twice while all three of his crosses were inaccurate. However, he remains one of Spurs’ most important players.

As a result, Postecoglou will be desperate to get Son back out on the pitch as soon as possible.

Having only returned from injury against West Ham, these issues are no doubt becoming something of a concern.

In other Tottenham news, Timo Werner could leave the club in January.
