Crystal Palace v Tottenham: Team news, betting odds, where to watch, lineups, prediction

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham side travel to Crystal Palace with hopes of closing the gap on the top four in the Premier League.

Spurs will be looking to build on their 4-1 hammering of West Ham in their previous top-flight fixture as they look to reduce the gap between the top four, which currently stands at four points.

A win would be their third in a row following a 1-0 victory against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday (24 October).

Preview

Spurs have enjoyed a fairly successful start to the season, albeit finding themselves down in seventh. Postecoglou’s side have won four of their opening eight Premier League fixtures.

A win midweek against AZ kept up their perfect run in the Europa League as they seek to win silverware this season.

Spurs could close the gap on the top four to just one point with a win, depending on other results.

Crystal Palace have had a horrid start to the campaign after promising signs last season. Oliver Glasner’s side find themselves 18th in the league, yet to win a game.

The Eagles most recently lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest on Monday (21 October), with that following defeats to Liverpool and Everton.

Betting odds

Tottenham win – 3/4

Crystal Palace win – 16/5

Team news

Son Heung-min and Wilson Odobert were both absent from the club’s 1-0 win over AZ although the latter is expected to return to the squad this weekend.

Spurs have confirmed Son is unlikely to feature and it may open the door for Mikey Moore to feature after impressing in the Europa League.

Fortunately for Postecoglou, there are no other injury concerns for their game against Crystal Palace.

As for the visitors, Matheus Franca and summer signing Chadi Riad remain out with injuries, the former now having missed the last 21 fixtures.

Predicted lineups

Crystal Palace: Henderson, Chalobah, Lacroix, Guehi, Lerma, Munoz, Mitchell, Wharton, Eze, Nketiah, Mateta

Spurs: Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison, Johnson, Moore, Solanke

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-3 Tottenham

It should be a comfortable victory for Spurs this weekend, with Palace yet to record a single win in the league.

With hopes of finishing in the top four, Postecoglou’s side need to be able to win games like these and they will surely have no issue in doing so.
