Beth England was back among the goals as Tottenham Women beat Everton Women 2-1 on Sunday.
It has been a difficult second season in charge for Robert Vilahamn, with Spurs losing five of their nine matches in the Barclays Women’s Super League this term.
However, the North London side are starting to find a bit of form, recording back-to-back victories for the first time this season, following up their 1-0 Women’s League Cup victory over Aston Villa Women at Brisbane Road [23 November] with a win over Everton in the WSL, once again at Brisbane Road [8 December].
And Vilahamn would have been particularly delighted with the contributions of England, who scored her third and fourth league goals of the season against the Toffees.
Beth England back among the goals for Tottenham Women
Spurs picked up their first league win since 3 November with a fine team display on Sunday, with Hayley Raso continuing her fine form after her contributions for Australia over the international break.
However, it was England who stole the headlines at Brisbane Road.
The striker opened the scoring in the 25th minute, before once again finding the back of the net in the 48th minute, this time from the penalty spot, after Sara Holmgaard had drawn Everton level.
In addition to her goals, the 30-year-old also played three key passes and won 80 per cent of her aerial duels [Sofascore].
England could have had a hat-trick, missing one big chance among her seven shots overall. There were areas of her game which could have been improved upon, as the forward failed with her one attempted dribble and was also dribbled past once.
However, Vilahamn will be able to forgive this considering the goals England scored.
And the Spurs boss will hope this is the start of a scoring streak for Spurs’ number nine.
In other Tottenham news, the condition for Ange Postecoglou’s sack has been shared ahead of the clash with Rangers.
