View: Vilahamn will be thrilled as 100% Tottenham Women star shines v West Ham Women

Robert Vilahamn would have been delighted with Molly Bartrip’s performance as Tottenham Women beat West Ham Women 3-1 on Sunday.

It has been a difficult few weeks for Spurs. However, the North London side got back to winning ways in the Barclays Women’s Super League with a London derby victory at Brisbane Road (3 November).

Riko Ueki put the Hammers ahead in the first half, which left Vilahamn’s side staring down the barrel of a fourth consecutive loss. However, the hosts bounced back, with Bethany England equalising before a Camila Sáez own-goal in stoppage time secured all the points for Tottenham.

Jessica Naz looked lively after her positive international break, while the experienced duo of Martha Thomas and England also put in positive displays. However, it was Bartrip’s performance which would have really caught Vilahamn’s eye.

Having conceded 11 goals in their previous three games, Vilahamn would have been delighted with Spurs’ defensive efforts.

And centre-back Bartrip was a big part of these efforts. As per Sofascore, the 28-year-old made three clearances, two tackles and blocked two shots.

In addition, she also won 100 per cent of her ground duels and one of her two aerial duels. On the ball she also shone, completing 88 per cent of her passes, while succeeding with 100 per cent of her dribbles.

And Vilahamn will be hoping to see a lot more of this going forward from his defenders.
