Barcelona have not won at Vallecas in the last three years, and that is a statistic that Hansi Flick will be determined to end in his first away fixture against Rayo Vallecano. However, it’s not been a good start for the Catalans, who have fallen behind inside the opening 10 minutes.
Inigo Perez’s side have been electric in the early stages, backed by a raucous crowd. Their reward is the opening goal, which has been scored by Unai Lopez. Jorge de Frutos drove to the by-line, and his cutback was met by Lopez, who scores against Barcelona at Vallecas for the second successive season.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen will be disappointed that he did not stop Lopez’s strike, given that it was at his near post. Barcelona now have it all to do if they are to end their drab recent record at Vallecas, and also continue their 100% start to the new season.
