Mamardashvili has developed into one of the best goalkeepers in the world over the last 12 months. He was one of the standout ‘keepers in La Liga last season, and he carried that form in Euro 2024 – it was in Germany that his stock rose exponentially, and on the back of this, Liverpool have moved to tie him down as their Alisson Becker successor. There’s no doubt that his absence at Valencia will be felt from next season onwards.
