Wayne Rooney 'to jet out of UK after Plymouth news': Fans react

Wayne Rooney will fly out of the UK to see wife Coleen in Australia after the latest developments for Plymouth Argyle, fans have joked.

The former Man United and England striker is currently enduring a tough time in charge of the Pilgrims in the Championship.

His side have won just one of their last nine Premier League games, which had led to suggestions he may not have long left in charge, even before they conceded ten goals in their last two games alone.

After a 4-0 thrashing at Bristol City last time out, it was claimed that Rooney has just two games to save his job as Plymouth manager.

The first of those two games, at home against Oxford United, had been scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon (7 December).

However, the match was postponed the day before on safety advice thanks to Storm Darragh, amid weather warnings for high winds and some fans now think they know what Rooney is doing instead this weekend.

While the 39-year-old is currently having a tough time in management, his wife Coleen has been more successful in recent weeks.

She has been competing on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, reaching the final four of the reality show based in the Australian jungle.

With the final set to take place on Sunday night (8 December), her time on the show is about to come to an end, at the same time her husband now has a free weekend.

Many fans were quick to take to social media to suggest that Wayne has “pulled off a blinder” and would be jetting to Australia to meet his wife when she exits the show, after is was announced the Plymouth game has been postponed.

In other news, Rangers are planning a January move for a Plymouth star but Premier League clubs are hesitant over a move.
