Wenham gushes over 'Outstanding' Tottenham star after what has happened in pre-season

John Wenham has piled praise on Tottenham star Pedro Porro after the defender’s “outstanding” contributions during pre-season.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the 24-year-old has demonstrated plenty of leadership qualities over the past few weeks.

Porro got himself on the scoresheet twice in three matches during Spurs’ pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that the Spaniard is set for another big season in North London.

“Porro has taken on a lot of responsibility during pre-season,” Wenham said.

“He has been the only regular defender from our strongest team playing in most of these matches. Overall, he has had an outstanding pre-season.

“He has shown some real leadership qualities while playing alongside the likes of Archie Gray and Oliver Skipp at the back.

“That is a huge credit to him, and I think he is set for another big season this year. If he could get five to seven goals from right-back that would be hugely beneficial for us.”

Porro enjoyed a fine 2023/24 season under Ange Postecoglou.

Now that he has become more accustomed to the Australian’s style of play he will no doubt be hoping to build on his form from last season.

Porro is the only key Tottenham defender with a full pre-season under his belt. Therefore, he will be hoping to hit the ground running as soon as the season gets underway.
