Wenham slams 'Disappointing' Tottenham star, wants him sold and replaced before 11pm

John Wenham has urged Tottenham to replace “disappointing” midfielder Yves Bissouma.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose hasn’t been impressed by what he has seen from the ex-Brighton man since he arrived in North London.

Bissouma was recently handed a club-imposed one-match suspension after a video emerged which appeared to show the midfielder inhaling laughing gas (via Sky Sports News, 15 August).

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims the 28-year-old is no longer the player he once was.

“If there is an option to replace Bissouma with a different midfielder, Spurs should do it,” Wenham said.

“What has he done since joining the club? He has been quite underwhelming. We haven’t seen anything like the Bissouma we saw at Brighton who would run the show against us when he played.

“On the whole, he has been a disappointing signing.”

Bissouma might have scored in his most recent appearance as Spurs thrashed Everton 4-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (24 August).

However, that was only his first goal for the club after two seasons. Consistency has always been an issue for Bissouma since he made the move to Spurs from Brighton.

Therefore, if a last-minute opportunity arises to replace the midfielder, Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham would be wise to consider that option carefully.

Bissouma has had plenty of chances in a Spurs shirt. Therefore, it might be time for the club to go in a new direction.
