John Wenham would welcome AFC Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke to Tottenham.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the 26-year-old would improve Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
It comes after a report in talkSPORT (21 May) revealed that Spurs are interested in Solanke, with a “hefty bid” needed to convince his current club to sell.
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims he is a fan of the Englishman.
“I’ve always thought he was a top player,” Wenham said.
“He’s really come out of his shell this year and is performing at the level I expected him to all those years ago.
“Would Solanke improve Spurs? Absolutely.
“I would welcome him at the club for sure.”
Dominic Solanke would improve Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham options
Spurs need a new number nine.
Richarlison isn’t reliable enough and Son Heung-min usually does his best work on the left.
Bringing in a striker who can guarantee 20-plus Premier League goals a season will be vital.
Replacing Harry Kane is a near-impossible task, but by bringing in Solanke the club would at least be giving that near-impossible task a good go.
In other Tottenham news, a roadblock has emerged for one “sensational” academy gem.
