Tottenham’s midfield still needs some work this summer.
Archie Gray has joined Spurs, and while Gray does sound like an exciting addition for Tottenham, there’s still some more work to do.
Indeed, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg expected to leave and the likes of Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur struggling for form over the past 12 months, Spurs still need more midfielders.
Conor Gallagher has been linked with Tottenham for a long time now, but now, another Premier League midfielder has been linked.
Spurs are said to be keen on Manchester United’s Scott McTominay, and according to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, McTominay will cost just £30m this summer.
Scott McTominay will cost £30m
Jones shared what he knows about the ‘fantastic’ player and how much he will cost in this transfer window.
“Scott McTominay is a name that is back on the radar. I reported that Fulham were in for McTominay and had initial enquiries around him. I got the impression from someone at that point that it probably wouldn’t happen,
“They have now touched base a couple of times with Man United a couple of times over the figure that would be needed. I think it would have to be a £30m transfer if Scott McTominay were to leave United this summer, so we have to wait and see if Fulham or any other club choose to pay that.”
McTominay a good price for £30m
£30m is a good price for a player like McTominay.
The Manchester United midfielder has bags of experience at the top level, he’s versatile, and he’s got incredible physical attributes.
Tottenham just paid £40m to sign a midfielder who has one season of Championship football under his belt, so £30m for player who has played in the Champions League on numerous occasions shouldn’t be too much of an eyebrow-raiser.
Spurs would be wise to go in for McTominay at such a decent price.
