'You are on fire': Sandro sends message to one Tottenham player after today's 4-1 thrashing of West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur have made a triumphant return to Premier League action following the international break.

Admittedly, it wasn’t plain sailing in Saturday’s early kick-off against West Ham United, but Spurs went on to turn things round and run out 4-1 winners.

Mohammed Kudus opened the scoring for the Hammers in the 16th minute, but Tottenham’s in-form star Dejan Kulusevski levelled before the break.

Yves Bissouma then netted in the second half, which opened the floodgates for Spurs against a hapless West Ham outfit.

A Jean-Clair Todibo deflection came off Alphonse Areola for Tottenham’s third goal, and Son Heung-min rounded off the scoring on the hour.

After the game, Spurs cult hero Sandro took to Instagram with a message for one of the Lilywhites’ players, saying he’s “on fire”.

Sandro wowed by Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski

While most of Spurs’ players impressed on the day, Kulusevski was head and shoulders above virtually everyone else on the pitch once again.

Sandro, who played for Tottenham between 2010 and 2014, shared a picture of himself with Kulusevski, tagged the player and wrote “you are on fire”.

He went on to praise the whole Spurs team, saying “well done boys” and ending with “COYS”.

How the media rated Kulusevski’s display v West Ham

Football.london gave Kulusevski a 9 out of 10 rating for his efforts on the day.

They wrote: “Excellent in the opening exchanges and managed to get his name on the scoresheet prior to the break with a low effort that went in off both posts.

“Very much up for it and the confidence in his game is there for all to see at present. Key to Tottenham’s third goal as well after some great play with Son.”

Meanwhile, the Evening Standard gave him an 8 out of 10 and wrote: “Tottenham’s best player of the afternoon.

“Wriggled out of tight spaces nicely and deserved the goal which he scored shortly before the break to level things up.”
