Youth Expert raves about Tottenham teen sensation, loan move mooted after what he did y'day

John Wenham is hopeful that Tottenham academy sensation Callum Olusesi will be sent out on loan next season.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose is delighted by the progress the 17-year-old is making in North London.

Olusesi has played four times in Premier League 2 for Spurs’ Under-21s this season. He grabbed his second goal in as many games during the 4-1 defeat to Fulham’s Under-21s on Friday (20 September), a match in which another Spurs youngster shone despite the defeat.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has high hopes for Olusesi’s long-term prospects.

“Seeing him continue to develop has been good,” Wenham said.

“If Olusesi can get a full season under his belt as the starting midfielder for the Under-21s alongside Tyrese Hall, that would be great.

“Hopefully that will then allow him to head out on loan next season, which would be fantastic for his development. He is making really good progress, he is only the same age as Mikey Moore.

“He can play in midfield or at centre-back. However, midfield is where I see his future lying.”

Callum Olusesi to earn first-team debut at Tottenham?

Olusesi is yet to celebrate his 18th birthday. Therefore, for him to be featuring regularly for the Under-21s this season is a sign of how talented he is.

As a result, it might not be long until Ange Postecoglou considers handing the youngster a first-team debut.

With the UEFA Europa League to come, there will be plenty of opportunities for young players to be given a chance in North London, and it looks as though Olusesi is near the front of the queue.
