Pep Guardiola has reached an agreement in principle over a Man City contract extension, sources have told Football Insider.
The legendary Catalan boss is set to put pen to paper on a new one-year extension running until the summer of 2026.
Sources say the deal is “99% done” after new talks, with an official announcement expected soon.
Guardiola’s future has been the subject of widespread speculation but he insisted last month that he had not made a final decision.
City fans are now set to get clarity with the 53-year-old set to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium to ten years.
Guardiola has been linked with both the England and Brazil jobs after previously opening the door to international management.
News on a new contract for the serial winning boss comes during a tough spell of form for City, who have lost each of their last four games across all competitions.
Guardiola agrees new one-year Man City contract in principle
Nevertheless, they are just five points adrift of league leaders Liverpool in the search for their fifth consecutive Premier League title – and seventh in the last eight seasons.
Guardiola has won six English titles, the Champions League and two FA Cups after takng charge at City in 2016.
City are currently embroiled in a fight with the Premier League over 115 alleged financial rule breaches, with a secret hearing in London kicking off in September.
If found guilty, they could face punishments which include a fine or potential points deductions.
