Alan Myers reacts as Everton now reportedly on verge of Sekou Koita deal

Alan Myers has reacted to the latest news that Sekou Koita has supposedly reached an agreement with Everton.

Taking to X on Wednesday (July 3), the journalist answered some questions including one that asked: “Any truth in this Sekou Koita close to signing?” Myers replied “no idea”.

Nonetheless, despite Myers’ lack of knowledge regarding the potential transfer, according to Africa Foot [3 July], the Toffees are set to sign the free agent who recently left RB Salzburg with all terms already agreed.

The website reported that Koita is just waiting to finalise a few details before putting pen to paper with the Merseyside club.

Everton close to signing Sekou Koita with more transfers expected at Goodison Park

Everton fans have a lot to be excited about as the club edges closer to signing free-agent forward Sekou Koita.

Koita, who recently left RB Salzburg, is set to join fellow Malian Abdoulaye Doucoure at Goodison Park.

However, this move is just a small part of the Toffees’ very active transfer window under Sean Dyche.

After successfully holding off Manchester United’s interest in Jarrad Branthwaite and securing Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille for £15million, the Toffees are adding more firepower with Koita.

His impressive record of 42 goals in 103 appearances for Salzburg shows he has the potential to make a significant impact.

But Everton’s transfer activity doesn’t stop there. They’re eyeing Hull City winger Jaden Philogene and Hellas Verona right-back Jackson Tchatchoua [Liverpool Echo], showing their intent to strengthen across the board.

Despite potential outgoings, Everton’s aggressive and smart moves in the market are setting them up for an exciting Premier League season ahead.

In other Everton news, the Toffees can now snap up a “highly-coveted” attacking target for well below £1m.
