Goodison View: Ipswich Town now on course to beat Everton to two new signings amid £33.8m bid

Ipswich Town have made a £33.8million bid for Hull City duo and Everton targets Jaden Philogene and Jacob Greaves, according to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

The Sports Digitale journalist claimed on 4 July that the newly-promoted Premier League side are looking to complete a double transfer raid on the Tigers.

Should it be accepted, the Toffees will miss out on both Philogene, who fits the strategy laid out by Kevin Thelwell [Liverpool Echo, 28 June] and Greaves, who has been earmarked as a Jarrad Branthwaite replacement. [HITC, 14 June]

Sabuncuoglu wrote on Twitter: “Ipswich Town made a 40 million euro offer to Hull City for Jaden Philogene, with bonuses in the package that also included Jacob Greaves. Hull considered the offer.”

Everton cannot let Ipswich Town steal two of their transfer targets

The Toffees must act swiftly to prevent Ipswich Town from securing their transfer targets Philogene and Greaves.

Losing these players to a newly promoted Premier League side would be a significant blow to the club’s recruitment strategy and squad improvement plans.

To prevent Ipswich from completing the double transfer, the Merseyside outfit should make an offer to Hull City that matches or exceeds Ipswich’s bid.

They must also highlight the benefits of joining their club, such as the opportunity to play for a well-established Premier League side with a rich history and passionate fanbase.

This would mean agreeing on personal terms with the two players and Sean Dyche and Thelwell selling the project to them.

Additionally, Everton could also emphasise their commitment to player development and the potential for growth within the club.

By acting decisively and presenting a compelling case, they can secure these key signings and strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

In other Everton news, the club have submitted an offer to sign an international striker after the announcement of Iliman Ndiaye.
