Amad Diallo sends seven-word message to Man United fans after blow

Man United star Amad Diallo has taken to social media to ask fans to “trust the process” after their 1-1 draw with Ipswich on Sunday (November 24).

Diallo, 22, made a marauding run before putting the ball on a plate for Marcus Rashford to slot home and open the scoring at Portman Road after just two minutes.

United were unable to capitalise on their early goal, however, and Ruben Amorim’s first game as manager ended in a disappointing draw.

Despite his good form and constant attacking threat over their last few games, Amorim decided to deploy Diallo as a right wingback rather than his preferred role as a more traditional playmaker.

Since it’s only been one game, it’s unclear whether this is a permanent switch for Diallo, especially considering United currently have four first-team defenders out through injury.

Diallo thrived under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy after being largely ignored by Erik ten Hag, scoring both goals in their 2-0 Europa League win over PAOK earlier in the season.

It’s early doors for Amorim at United, and it will take more than a week to undo all the issues at the club, but he will no doubt be frustrated his new side were unable to get all three points against Ipswich.

With games against Arsenal, Man City, and Tottenham fast approaching, Diallo has taken to Instagram to ask the fans for patience.

Man United remain some way off the European spots, sitting down in 12th, having won four, drawn four, and lost four of their opening 12 Premier League games.

Next up for Amorim is a visit from Norwegian side Bodo/Glimpt as the young coach takes charge of his first game at Old Trafford.
