Arsenal could still make another major signing before the transfer window closes on Friday, considering a late move for Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman.

The Frenchman is happy to leave the German giants this summer and Bayern are willing to let him go, having been at the Allianz Arena since 2015.

There was reportedly interest from the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona, but it is Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal that has made the only offer for the 28-year-old so far.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano described it as ‘an important, huge bid’ for Coman from the Saudi side, although no deal has been agreed as yet.

Asked whether his client had accepted the move to Saudi, Coman’s agent, Christian Emile, said on Wednesday: ‘It’s not true. Kingsley has not accepted any bid at this stage.’

There is precious little time left before the transfer window closes at 11pm UK time on Friday, but the Daily Mail report that Arsenal’s interest in a Coman move is still alive.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to add another forward option to his squad before the deadline and the hugely decorated Frenchman is seen as a good candidate.

The issue will be the finances, with Coman reportedly earning around £300,000-a-week at Bayern and certainly offered vast riches by Al Hilal.

Arsenal are unlikely to be willing and able to compete with those numbers, especially as Coman would not necessarily be a guaranteed starter.

However, having already won league titles in France, Italy and Germany, Coman could be tempted to have a crack at the Premier League and remain in the Champions League with Arsenal, even if that means taking a lower wage offer.

The former PSG and Juventus star did feature in Bayern Munich’s opening Bundesliga game of the season, coming off the bench in the 3-2 win at Wolfsburg.

He also came off the bench and scored in the 4-0 DFB-Pokal win at Ulm earlier this month, so new manager Vincent Kompany has certainly not discarded him, despite the transfer speculation.
