BBC Sport journalist shares triple Everton transfer update

Everton are unlikely to sign any of Armando Broja, Wilfried Ndidi or Tanguy Ndombele this summer, according to Shamoon Hafez.

The BBC journalist reported via his personal X account [10 June] that the Toffees are not interested in Chelsea striker Broja, with the current takeover uncertainty meaning the club are not keen on the £30million transfer fee.

It is understood that the club have also not offered Leicester City midfielder Ndidi a contract despite rumours suggesting the opposite, while any links to Tottenham’s Ndombele are strictly speculation.

“As you were on the transfer front for Everton. Not interested in signing Broja from Chelsea. Takeover uncertainty means the club are not in a position to spend £30m on a player,” Hafez wrote.

“Haven’t offered Ndidi a contract and not currently likely to. Ndombele stuff is social media speculation.”

Sean Dyche will be keen to make additions to his squad this summer so that the Toffees can continue to climb the Premier League table and avoid any risk of relegation.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park, with Newcastle United said to be interested, which could pave the way for Broja to enter the club.

However, £30million would be a lot of money to splash on the Albanian striker who struggled on loan at Fulham in the second half of last season, while wages would also be a concern with Ndombele.

The Frenchman is set to to leave Tottenham (Fabrizio Romano, 9 June) but he has been an expensive flop and is exactly the sort of signing Everton need to avoid, so it’s good to hear that one is just social media noise.

On the other hand, Ndidi’s contract at the King Power Stadium is set to expire later this month and would represent the Toffees with an incredible free transfer.

While he may have a decent wage to cover, adding a midfielder of his quality to Dyche’s team, with Premier League experience and almost 300 appearances for the Foxes, it seems like a no-brainer signing this summer – albeit he’s likely to have plenty of suitors.
