'Breath of fresh air' - Ferguson wowed by what 'Brilliant' Rangers has done

Derek Ferguson has been left wowed by Rangers ace Hamza Igamane after what he’s done for the Ibrox outfit recently.

The Morocco international has come into his own recently and has bagged in three of the Gers’ last four games thus far, with the attacker pivotal in their 3-0 Scottish Premiership win against Ross County on Sunday.

Speaking live on BBC Radio Scotland (8 December, 14;14pm), Ferguson shared his thoughts on the recent form of Igamane.

“Igamane is a real breath of fresh air, the young man. The manager said he was trying to get him up to speed, but in the last few games he has been nothing short of brilliant,” he said.

“He is off the cuff and he had three or four nutmegs this afternoon – and took his goal brilliantly.

“I don’t know if you remember Ted McMinn, but Igamane’s got that unpredictability”.

If you’d have told Rangers fans that they’d be two points adrift of second-placed Aberdeen a few weeks ago and that Philippe Clement would still be in charge, they’d have probably laughed in your face.

However, that is actually the case at Ibrox, with the Gers managing to hack away at the gap between themselves and the top two thanks to their recent upturn in form.

The main problem area for Rangers this season has been their final third-play, but since Igamane has been brought into the team, things seem to have turned around for the Ibrox outfit.

Of course, the fact that Clement has changed the way he lines his team up will have also had a part to play in their recent upturn in form, but Igamane’s newfound goal-scoring prowess could be key to the Ibrox outfit re-mounting their title challenge if he can keep it up.

Only time will tell what the future holds for the Morocco international and Rangers but at the moment, things look to be on the up.
