Brighton are expected to test the market before making a decision on Rangers target Abdallah Sima, according to Rangers Review.

The news outlet reported on 6 May that sources at Ibrox believe that with them wanting to sell him permanently, they will want to maximise the value for the 22-year-old.

Gers are understood to want to re-sign the Senegal international after having a successful season on loan in 2023/24.

Gers may need to increase their financial commitment to secure Sima from Brighton on a permanent basis and it may involve weeks of negotiations.

The Premier League side’s decision to wait for a new manager before determining Sima’s future suggests they value him highly and are likely to demand a significant fee for his services.

The 22-year-old forward’s impressive performances during his loan spell at Ibrox, scoring 15 goals before an injury disrupted his season, have increased his market value.

Brighton, who hold an option for an additional year on Sima’s contract, are likely to test the market to maximise the value of a permanent transfer by offering him to other clubs and there remains the possibility of him not returning to Ibrox.

Philippe Clement has expressed interest in retaining Sima, but any deal will depend on Brighton’s demands and Gers’ ability to meet those financial terms.

Given Sima’s positive experience in Glasgow and his desire to stay, the club may need to invest more to secure his services for the long term.
