James Graham is interesting Swansea City after the young striker departed Rangers, according to the Daily Echo.

According to an update on the outlet’s website on 16 July (5.11pm) the Championship club are considering a deal for the 20-year-old who is in Wales and looking into a move.

Graham left the Light Blues as his contract expired this summer without making a senior appearance after spending last season on loan at Annan Athletic and then Dumbarton.

James Graham in possible Championship move after Rangers exit

Graham was a man in demand a year ago as Annan won the race of four clubs who wanted to bring the forward in on loan [Daily Record, 21 August] ahead of Forfar Athletic, Stenhousemuir and East Fife.

But his Gers career ultimately wasn’t boosted by a pair of temporary switches last term where he scored only twice.

Robbie Fraser was also a candidate to go out on loan at the time [Daily Record, 16 August] and the defender was able to force his way into the senior side under Philippe Clement last season where he made a pair of Scottish Premiership appearances after the split.

Striker remains a major focus in the first-team where Sam Lammers’ necessary sale has so far proven impossible thanks to the wages the club are paying him.

James Graham was in demand from Rangers a year ago.

Cyriel Dessers is also potentially on the way out but potential replacement options are proving difficult to pin down as they either appear to be impossible targets or are now signing elsewhere this summer.

Graham might have hoped to edge his way into that equation if he was still in Glasgow but it looks like he might be set for a second chance in South Wales now instead.

In other Rangers news, an update has emerged in the race to sign an “very important” striker who the Gers were believed to be in “pole position” for.
