Chris Jack shares behind-the-scenes Rangers image of refurb work at Ibrox

Improvements to Ibrox are underway following consultation with Rangers fans and stakeholders, as shown on social media by Chris Jack.

Jack’s post on X [7 June] shows work being done in the stadium’s Copland Stand, with a few renovation works taking place before the start of the 2024-25 season.

These works were announced by Rangers in January, aiming to be complete by the time next campaign kicks off.

Jack himself first relaid to the Gers fans last December what the planned works consisted of.

What is being upgraded at the home of Rangers?

Work in the Copland Stand is aiming to raise the number of wheelchair accessible seating positions inside Ibrox to 153, which Rangers claim is the highest of Scotland’s clubs.

A boost of 1,000 new seats and some further displacements will raise Rangers’ stadium capacity by approximately 600, with some supporters having to be slightly relocated but with a singing section put in place to maintain the Light Blues’ atmosphere.

The club have been quick to communicate to fans that those impacted will have first reserve on relocation and remaining in the same area as family and friends.

With a mountain of a task on the footballing side of the Gers over the summer, it’s encouraging for supporters to see progress being made off it too, although some fans will be understandably frustrated by what they feel will be unnecessary alterations.

In other Rangers news, South American target Thomas Galdames has spoken out about his future.
