Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed there will be “money available” for Crystal Palace to improve their squad in the January window.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted potential new investment may also help the Eagles strengthen in the transfer market.

Palace sit inside the relegation zone after 11 games having picked up just one win and seven points in the 2024-25 campaign.

However, Football Insider revealed on Monday (11 November) that club chiefs are still behind manager Oliver Glasner despite the poor start.

John Textor has been open about trying to sell his minority stake at Selhurst Park, a move which could bring new investment in the Premier League side in the near future.

‘Money available’ for Crystal Palace in January, says Wyness

Wyness claimed the Palace board have “the connections to resolve this” and are now “seasoned management” in the English top flight.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I think they’ll look at where they believe the weaknesses have been.

“It seems they’re shipping a few too many goals, plus they haven’t been scoring enough – so they’ve got both ends of the pitch to consider.

“I think there would be money available. They won’t give up without a big fight.

“There could also be new investors at that time who are able to help them.

“It’s a big decision but Palace are a seasoned Premier League team with seasoned management.

“They understand the issues and they’ve got the connections to resolve this.

“They’ve done it before and I think they can turn it around.

“I hope they can come through it before Christmas.”
