Dan Friedkin won't be Everton president when takeover complete - report

Dan Friedkin will not be the president of Everton once he completes his takeover of the club, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Writing on their website (6 July), the news outlet report that a takeover is expected to be formally announced “in the next few days”, with the American buying Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% stake in the club.

But he won’t be the man running things at Goodison Park as he will continue to run AS Roma. Instead, his son, Ryan, will be the one to be handed the presidency of the Toffees for their new era.

Everton fans won’t care if it’s Ryan or Dan Friedkin

The face of the operation will be Ryan Friedkin, but it’s also very clear that Dan will be the man who has the final say on things and that’s not a bad thing.

It’s his money being pumped into the club and Ryan is someone he will obviously trust completely, so the club is still in good hands regardless of who has the title to their name.

The summer transfer window has gone well so far with no key players moving on despite strong interest, while the club have strengthened the team with three new signings already for Sean Dyche.

Everton fans regularly make their voices heard at Goodison Park

There had been reports that Dyche could be replaced by Friedkin [Il Messaggero, 16 June], but it would be very odd to back him in the market and then sack him before a ball is even kicked and before he’s been given an opportunity.

The future looks bright and the club are beginning to get more clarity on what the structure will look like, so fans can now start to get excited too.
