Everton to let 200+ app ace leave if new signing arrives, clubs alerted - report

Michael Keane could be on his way out of Everton if the club successfully sign Republic of Ireland centre-half Jake O’Brien from Lyon, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist shared via his Patreon page on Sunday (July 7) that with the Toffees confident the 23-year-old O’Brien will choose them over Nottingham Forest and West Ham, Keane could become surplus to requirements at Goodison Park.

Several clubs are said to have been alerted about the impending availability of Keane, who’s made over 200 appearances for the club.

Keane’s future at Everton this summer is looking pretty uncertain. With the club actively chasing O’Brien, it seems like Keane is slipping down the priority list.

Everton’s recent financial struggles mean they need to balance the books, and selling Keane could really help with that.

The sale of Ben Godfrey has already eased some pressure, but offloading Keane would provide even more financial breathing room.

Plus, if they manage to keep Jarrad Branthwaite despite Manchester United’s interest, it’s clear Keane isn’t a big part of Sean Dyche’s plans.

Keane’s inconsistent performances haven’t helped his cause. While he’s had good moments, his reputation for costly errors makes him a less reliable choice.

With several clubs interested, it feels like Everton might decide to cash in. Nothing’s ever certain in football, but it’s looking more and more likely that Keane won’t be at Goodison Park much longer.
