Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke is likely to be back in contention for the game against Arsenal on 15 September after recovering from his ankle injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that despite his sublime fitness record last season, this setback can take a while to get back from.
Solanke moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer after leaving Bournemouth permanently.
Discussing the state of play with Solanke exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “It sounds like he is quite close to returning from his ankle setback and based on what Ange said, the medical team was being conservative with him to make sure he’s ready to go for some big matches following the international break.
“Although he was injury free last season, any player can pick up a knock regardless of injury history.
“Those contact injuries especially to the foot and ankle can take some time to get back from.
“I’d expect him to be back in contention on the other side of the international break.“
Tottenham will be hoping for Dominic Solanke to fire on all cylinders
The 26-year-old was in sublime form for Bournemouth, scoring 19 Premier League goals and providing three assists.
Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that he can pick up from where he left off and fire Spurs into the top four and potentially in contention to win trophies.
Spurs finally appear to have replaced Harry Kane by signing Dominic Solanke and it remains to be seen how he fares in North London.
