Doctor: Tottenham player faces injury risks as Manchester United transfer news emerges

Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon faces increased injury risks in the future, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that while the 27-year-old has not had any setbacks recently, the lack of game time may still prove to be costly.

This comes after AS reported on 3 July that Manchester United have expressed interest in signing the Spaniard again.

Discussing the state of play with Reguilon exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “He has not had injuries so that’s definitely a boost for any side looking to sign him.

“On the flip side, he’s not featured regularly so his match fitness has been low throughout the last season.

“Typically, not having consistent matches will dent fitness and potentially increase the risk of overload and thus injuries but the extent is difficult to discern.“

Spurs should consider selling Reguilon amid interest from Manchester United due to his underwhelming performances since joining the club.

The Spaniard has struggled to consistently deliver the level of performance expected of him, leading to growing frustration among fans and potentially the club’s management.

He spent some time on loan at Old Trafford and their interest in re-signing him could be down to the fact that manager Erik ten Hag rates him.

This should be used by the Lilywhites as a chance to inflate his fee and get the most they can from United.
